Deers at Dyrehaven

  • Biking through Dyrehaven (Deer Park) UNESCO World Heritage
  • Visit the hunting palace of Eremitage
  • Sighting of Deers

We will meet at 8 am at your hotel, where your guide will be with your bikes and gear. Thereafter, we bike to the nearest train station to catch a ride that will take us to Klampemborg station. The idea of taking the train is that you can have an idea of how well equipped are the train stations and trains for people who want to carry their bikes. Once at Klamperborg we start our adventure.

The first stage from Klampemborg station is mostly flat with one uphill on the way to Eremitageslottet (Emiratage Castle) where we will have our first stop to enjoy the views this place has to offer while your guide will explain the history behind this place.

“The Hermitage is one of Europe’s most beautifully situated hunting palaces. A one graceful and massive building in perfect harmony with the surrounding magnificent landscape.”

We continue down passing Dyrehaven’s attractions such as Hvidtjørnesletten (The hawthorn plain), Christian 5.’s Eg and The English Rain towards Mølleåen (Moelleaan) for our second stop.

“Mølleådalen is called the cradle of Danish industry, because after the dam on the river was built 400 years ago as a hydropower source a number of large companies-built industries to produce textiles, hardware and metal products, paper, weapons and ammunition.”

After biking for about 30 minutes between dirt and paved bicycle roads we arrive to our third spot, Frieboeshvile where you can see how Copenhagen citizens in the late 18th century decorated a country house for summer stays. The road then crosses the Sophienholm art museum, the Mølleå river and leads us along Lynby and Bagsvaerd lakes, forest of oak trees, past the Mølleå protected park until we end in the Skovbrynet train station.

After an exciting 3 hours ride sadly, we arrive to our end of the biking road. We take the train back to Copenhagen drove off at your hotel and say goodbye.

You can mix your adventure with canoeing paddling in the Mølleå river to Furesoe lake.
